About Angel

IMG_8525.heic

Angel discovered the joy of illustration in the small pauses of daily life--on noisy streets, beside a cup of coffee, between the turning of book pages. Without formal art training, she turned to colors and lines as a way of expression both simple and sincere.

With a background in art history, her gaze lingers on images both grand and ordinary. She finds visual harmonies in dining hall chairs, shadows by the window, scent caught between pages, a passerby’s coat, even a scrap of trash glinting on the sidewalk. Her work blends the pulse of the city with a spirit of leisurely delight, where fashion and cafés are stitched into minimal, tender, and poetic lines that gently hold on to fleeting time.

Angel holds a B.A. in Art History from Mount Holyoke College, an M.A. in Art History from NYU Institute of Fine Arts, and a J.D. in Law from George Washington University Law School. She is based primarily in New York, and often drifts between Washington D.C., Beijing, and wherever travel takes her.
